Speed Statistics by Distance

Last updated

This table contains relevant race times data for every race ever run as of the most recent update. We can use this data as a benchmark for evaluating the ability of our own horses, as we examine our fastest times and average times. The column min contains the current world record times at each distance.

Standard Deviation describes the extent of how spread out the data for that distance is. For simplification purposes, one can assume 68% of race times fall within 1 standard deviation from the average, while 95% of race times will fall within 2 standard deviations from the average.

A horse capable of finishing faster than 2 standard deviations from the average is exceptional!
